  102. 3.  Installation
  103. ----------------

  105. To install WazTreeLite on your hard disk:
  106. a.   Place Disk in drive A.
  107. b.   Type: INSTALL and press ENTER.
  108. c.   Follow the directions displayed on the screen.
  109.  
  110. If you don't want to use the install program supplied then copy the
  111. following files to a directory on your hard disk (example: make a
  112. directory named Wtlite "MKDIR WTLITE" , then "COPY WTL.* C:\WTLITE").

  117. If Waztree needs to be distriubuted on 360k floppies then place files of two
  118. 360k diskettes as follows:

  123. 4. Tips on using WazTree
  124. ------------------------
  125.  
  126. *    You can set up formatting diskettes using Application menu.
  127.      For example if you have a 1.2m floppy and want to format 360k
  128.      set up the following application than when you want to format
  129.      360k floppies just select it.  Set up: Press F4 to get
  130.      Applications, press F2 with mark over blank application, enter
  131.      ie. C:\DOS\FORMAT.COM A:/F:360 <enter> then name the
  132.      application "format A: as 360k".  You could set one up for
  133.      each of the type of floppies you have then formatting will be
  134.      a easier.

  136. *    If you don't want to use Waztree's editor then you can specify
  137.      your own by command ctrl z and after the ID entry you can
  138.      specify complete path and name of your editor.
  139.  
  140. *    If you use your own editor and edit the same file often you
  141.      might want to enter the editor and document in an Application
  142.      selection.  Example of Application command line:
  143.      C:\EDITOR\ED.EXE MYDOC.DOC

  170. 6. Using Mouse Drivers with EGA and VGA Graphics Cards
  171. ------------------------------------------------------

  173. Early versions of mouse drivers don't support screen display modes
  174. larger than 80 columns by 24 lines. As a result, your mouse driver
  175. might not work correctly when you use WAZTREE enhanced display
  176. modes EGA 80x43 or VGA 80x50. The following chart will assist you
  177. in determining if your mouse driver will work correctly with the
  178. enhanced display modes.  You can usually get an updated driver via
  179. BBS's.

  280. 8. Shareware
  281. ------------

  283. Shareware (also known as user supported software, try before you buy and other
  284. names) is a concept not understood by everyone.  The authors of Shareware
  285. retain all rights to the software under the copyright laws while still allowing
  286. free distribution.  This gives the user the chance to freely acquire and try
  287. software to see if it is appropriate for his or her needs.  Shareware should
  288. not be confused with Public Domain software even though they are often acquired
  289. from the same sources.  If you continue to use Shareware after trying it out,
  290. you are expected to register your use with the author and pay a registration
  291. fee.  What you get in return depends on the author, but may include a printed
  292. manual, free updates, telephone support, etc.  Only by paying for the Shareware
  293. you use do you enable the Shareware author to continue to support his software
  294. and create new programs.  Considering that the Shareware registration fees are
  295. almost always far less than the purchase price of comparable commercial
  296. software it's obvious that Shareware is a good deal for everyone.  There are
  297. genuine advantages to you in the Shareware system.  You get to  try out
  298. software to make sure it is compatible with your hardware and that it fits your
  299. needs before you "buy" it with your registration.  The author saves the expense
  300. of advertising, packaging and distribution and passes the savings on to you.

  302. commercial software sources so that your questions and suggestions are much
